Service Logistics

The No-Obligation Quotation:

  • At the time of your call our office will advise you of the date and approximate time to expect your quote.
  • Estimated arborist arrival times for quoting visits will be provided in 2-4 hour blocks (depending on the time of year).
  • One free no-obligation quote will be done for any specific job, at any municipal address, once per year.  A service fee may be charged for additional site visits to quote the same work the same year.
  • Please note that unless requested differently by the client, we give fixed quotations.  We do not give estimates.

There is a huge difference. With a quote, you know what you will pay.  (Estimates are just that and therefore the price you end up paying may be higher than the price estimated)

  • In most cases, quotes will be e-mailed to the client, although we do fax and mail them when necessary.
  • When you receive the quote, please take the time to read it through carefully and notify the office of any necessary changes to client contact information or description of work.
  • The individual named as the client is responsible for payment of the invoice associated with the work completed.
  • This quotation (proposal) is for work requested by the individual named as client on the front of the quote. This individual is assumed to be the owner of trees or other plants noted in the quote (or owner’s representative).
  •  The company does not, under any circumstances, knowingly work on any trees or shrubs owned by a third party (including municipalities) without written permission from that party.
  • The company will not accept responsibility for any damage caused by tree failure, in whole or in part, which may occur between the date the owner first calls for a quotation or gives us the go ahead and the date the work has actually started or is completed.

Confirming That You Want The Work Done:

  • For insurance purposes, we require a signed copy of the quote returned to us by e-mail, fax or mail, before we do any work.
  • Similarly, any additions or changes to the work described will require a signed confirmation by the client either on-site (while the job is in progress) or forwarded to our office.

Scheduling The Work:

  • Regardless of job size, we will schedule your work and confirm scheduling with you approximately 7-10 days in advance of your service date.  While scheduled dates are firm, crew arrival times are estimated and are subject it change whiteout notification.
  • Scheduled work is subject to the unpredictable nature of weather and other delays beyond our control.  In the case of inclement weather, or other unforeseeable delays, the client will be notified of any cancellations on the morning of their scheduled service date.
  • Work cancelled due to poor weather will be rescheduled for our next available date, and not necessarily the next day.
  • We regret the inconvenience, but we cannot be responsible for failure to meet scheduled dates for completion of work affected by weather conditions or other factors beyond our control.

Work completion:

  • The team arrives at your job with a copy of the quote and detailed written instructions.
  • Sometimes changes to the work originally contracted for by the client will be necessitated based on conditions that have changed or were not evident at the time of the quote.  In such cases, and subject to prior client approval, our field representatives have been given the freedom to make necessary changes to the work originally prescribed, based on their experience, knowledge, and professional discretion.
  • The company will not accept responsibility for any damage caused by tree failure, in whole or in part, which may occur between the date the owner first calls for a quotation or gives us the go ahead and the date the work has actually started or is completed.
  • Work-site safety is our #1 priority.
  • It is our policy to continually review our practices and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation controlling our operations, most notably the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and applicable regulations.
  • In certain rare circumstances work may be terminated when previously non-existent or undetected, hazardous conditions are identified.

Payment:

  • Full payment is due on the day work is completed, unless arranged in advance with our office.  Commercial accounts are given 30 day payment terms (see below for additional details on terms for commercial accounts).
  • Payment may be made by cash, cheque or credit card and must include all applicable taxes.
  • Quoted prices do not include H.S.T.
  • For commercial accounts, and/or where terms of payment apply, 2% interest per month will be added to any portion of an invoice outstanding for more than 30 days and this will be compounded monthly.
